Internal medicine is the department that acts as admission and solution point for all health problems, ranging from febrile diseases and metabolic disorders to kidney and liver diseases.
Internal Medicine Department serves patients in divisions, such as hematology, oncology, nephrology, endocrinology, cardiology, rheumatology and gastroenterology, along with general internal medicine department. Internal Medicine is a comprehensive department. This department consists of various units which are responsible for planning the treatments of patients who present with various health problems and the department undertakes the role of guide to handle the problems. Therefore, our patients are tested at this department, initial diagnosis is established, relevant treatment is planned and the patient is referred to relevant department. As a general approach, the basic principle of General Internal Medicine is to evaluate and treat patients objectively.
NEPHROLOGY
Our Nephrology Unit admits patients who suffer from kidney diseases. The division deals with nephrology consultation and it is also the hypertension clinic. Kidneys diseases are diagnosed and treated and hypertension and pre-eclampsia are managed, while renal biopsies are performed in our clinics. We also perform hemodialysis and CVVH (continuous veno-venous hemofiltration) therapies , whenerver deemed necessary.
HEMATOLOGY
Hematology division renders a wide range of services, including but not limited to diagnosis, treatment and genetic counseling for hemoglobinopathies and diagnosis and treatment of lymphoma, leukemia and coagulation disorders.
ENDOCRINOLOGY
Our endocrine unit deals with physiology of endocrine system and treatment of thyroid diseases, diabetes, obesity, lipid metabolism disorders, osteoporosis, adrenal glands diseases, reproductive endocrinology and disorders of pituitary gland.
GASTROENTEROLOGY
Video-endoscopy system and high-tech imaging means are available at our hospital to diagnose and treat diseases of upper and lower gastrointestinal system. Moreover, our unit is equipped with hemostatic devices such as heat probe or argon laser to stop emergency hemorrhages in the digestive system.
