2-year-old Ali Asaf, the firstborn child of Fatma and Halil Karakaya couple who lives in Kocaeli, was taken to the hospital with the suspicion of cold after eating nuts with her parents. The little boy, whose fever got up to 39 degrees, was diagnosed with the onset of pneumonia by the doctors. The bronchoscopy procedure was performed for the little boy whose health could not improve after the treatment.
Ali Asaf, whose almond pieces were detected in his lungs, regain his health after 1.5 hours of operation. Child Surgery Specialist Assoc. Dr. Mevlit Korkmaz warned by saying that "Children shouldn’t be fed with nuts before the age of 3-4."
